[final essay] Our Intellectuality

Problems and problems, there are so many problems in our country. Unemployment, poverty, education problem, corruption, natural disaster, affair politics and so on have been our daily meals. Our law and system continuously have brought many challenges we can not solve. It is not reasonable to blame our government and demand the president to retire. The root of the problem is not on the president but on us and our law and system. We have used the law and system which is the product of our intellectuality.

Poor Indonesia, poor Indonesian. We have been the victim of global capitalism. For example, we need to import sugar and rice from the foreign country; at the same time, a lot of multinational companies are monopolising our abundant natural resources and our intelligence people to work with them. We have also been the victim of multidimensional crisis, it has been proved by bad news such as “More Trouble for Former Bulog Head”, “Affair Politics in Indonesia”, “Neighbors Try to Evict Maid Better Family”, or “Ailing IPDN”, which is still dominant in newspaper, television and other news media.



Responding this fact, we often blame and abuse the government, the president, nature, and even fate and God emotionally. The human does not depend entirely on fate and nature. If there were damaged nature, nature did not harm the human but human damaged environment. If there were damaged system, the system did not destroy the human, but the human damaged system. It is more appropriate to blame ourselves because we constructed our own damaged law and system.

In a country, the human is content and system is its software of state to work. Human is content which is managed by law and system. Our legislation and system are products of “together agreement” or “government’s agreement”, a product of democracy, and democracy is a product of human’s intellectuality; so people managed by the people. Because of it, our law’s righteousness is just temporal and will never be final. That is what we are wrong. The individual is not the law, the government is not the law, and also mass is not the law. There must be the law higher than the individual, the law was greater than government, the law higher than mass, the law which has the highest degree of human and its system.

It is true that the human beings are the most magnificent creature after animals, plants and unlived-matters because intellectuality was given to us, the people. Intellectuality is our power, but we are just too arrogant and too proud of our intellectuality, so we constructed our law and system alone. We are just like a computer, we say that computer is greatest human’s creature, but it can not solve its own problem without its operator. Problems on the computer can only be solved by the human because human creates the computer.

Besides intellectuality, consciousness and awareness-of-our-consciousness were also given to us. We consciously know that ability of our intellectuality to manage ourselves were limited; there are so many imperfections on human’s intellectuality so that the law and system which is the product of human’s intellectuality will have so many imperfections too. We consciously know that there is a King who has the authority on us, who creates the human beings and natures, who knows how to manage His creatures. The King has given us the law and system. Why do we still use another law and system?
